At Edge of Time Border Collies, we want every puppy to find a home that fits their energy, personality, and potential. Our adoption process is designed to ensure that each puppy is matched with the right family—whether your goals include herding, agility, performance sports, or enjoying life with an active companion. Below is our step-by-step guide to bringing home your new Border Collie.

Begin the adoption process by completing our Puppy Questionnaire. This helps us learn about your experience level, home environment, and what you’re looking for in a Border Collie. We use your responses to help determine if one of our puppies will be a good match for your needs and lifestyle.

After reviewing your application, we will contact you for a brief conversation. This allows us to gather more information about your goals—herding, agility, obedience, flyball, working ranch dog, hiking companion, or family pet—and explain what traits our puppies typically develop.
This step ensures clear communication and a strong foundation from the beginning.

If approved, you can place a non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot on our Priority Waitlist. We accept only a limited number of reservations to ensure fairness and proper placement.

Once the litter arrives, families receive regular updates including:

• Photos
• Videos
• Progress notes
• Early Socialization milestones
• Temperament observations

Our puppies are raised with early neurological stimulation (ENS), early scent introduction (ESI), and daily enrichment to promote confident, well-balanced dogs.

Around 6–7 weeks of age, we perform temperament and aptitude evaluations. These help us match each puppy’s individual qualities—drive, energy, focus, confidence, and structure—with the home best suited for them. We do not allow “first pick” selection based solely on color or markings; our priority is proper placement for long-term success for both you and your dog.

Puppies go home at 8 weeks of age, after completing:

• First Vaccinations
• Deworming Schedule
• Microchip
• Puppy Evaluation

On pickup day, families will receive a puppy packet that includes:

• Health Records
• Feeding schedule
• Training Tips
• Registration Information (if applicable)
• EOT Swag Bag with a small blanket or toy with the litter’s scent.
